I want to start a foundation to help funding for education, research, treatment and prevention of heart disease. I feel that this is something I could really do to help. Not for awhile, obviously…but sometime in the next couple of years. I’m going to do some research in the meantime, y’know, since I have nothing else to do. :p

I’m still considering going back to school sometime in the next few years to get my RN. I may even take a class here and there beforehand as time permits. I can take a weekend class when Jason can be home with the kids. I’m not totally sure what I want to do with it yet, but I’m sure I can figure that out. Also, with the shitty economy right now, that’s one field where I could almost always be guaranteed to have a job, and a pretty well-paying one, at that.

I think I’ve grown up a lot since I first started college. Maybe this time around I’ll be much more driven to finish. Although things ironically turned out for the better because I quit (had I not gotten a full-time job and my own health insurance before my dad died, I would have been up shit creek), I want to go back and get a degree. I think that I believe in myself more now, and more convinced that I *can* do it. That was a lot of my problem back then I think…”I can’t do it.”

Not much else going on, just enjoying some down time since the baby is asleep and Bobby is at his great-grandmas. Thank God for her! =)

and found these two pictures:

Bobby at around 6 months old

and

Me at the same age, roughly

See, B isn’t completely a Daddy’s boy. :P  He does still take after Mama some.

My son was sitting quietly playing with a couple of toy police cars and firetrucks, when suddenly he looks up at me and says, “Poop!”

Sure enough, not thirty seconds later, the smell of fresh dirty diaper comes wafting toward my nose.

I’m hoping this one will be easy to potty-train. I may invest in a potty-chair pretty soon, since he has to go in the bathroom and watch every time, anyway…

Hremmmmm.

Do me a favor and kick me in the butt to keep this one updated, huh? LOL

I don’t have much time to blog, but I think it would keep my creative juices flowing and some stress off my back.  I like to, once I find something to say.  And since Reno seems to think I’m good at writing–I’m not sure where he got that from–I might as well try to keep up a blog again.  I used to blog all the time a few years ago but I didn’t have kids and a husband then!

I’ll see if I can get the other blog imported, too.

Quote of the day

reno: You should use your spoon.

cjay: You should eat my spoon.

Fail.

October 28th, 2008

I had a routine OB appointment this morning. Well, I had one after I called to make sure it was today, and they told me that my appointment had actually been the 20th and that I had been a no show.

…huh? My appointment card said the 28th. Granted, it said Monday the 28th, and I forgot to call last week to find out when my appointment really was, since yesterday was the 27th. Since nobody called me and told me I’d skipped an appointment, I just assumed I was right on time. They were able to squeeze me in at 9:30, though.

So far everything still looking good. I have to go in next time at 28 weeks to do the lovely glucose screen.

For the record, HSN and QVC carry some of the gaudiest, ugliest jewelry I have ever seen. Not saying it’s all bad, they do have some nice things, but a lot of it is…ugh. They might benefit from that saying, “Keep It Simple, Stupid.” The goal is not how many diamond chips can you possibly fit on an earring or a bracelet.

Wow…I guess I’m not feeling very nice today.

Dear Snow Flurries,

Go fuck yourself. I’m not ready for you yet.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Random crap.

October 23rd, 2008

so yeah…I haven’t blogged very much lately. Mostly it’s because I don’t have much time to sit and blog, but I haven’t had too much to say lately either. So tonight it’s ‘yay’ for random posting.

* Taco John’s is not the worst place in the world to eat. If you can stomach the grease, it’s occasionally quite good. The meat’n'potato burrito is quite tasty, especially with the crunchy chicken. It’s actually making me kinda hungry now.

* I don’t remember feeling this much discomfort so early on with my last pregnancy. The last few weeks have been a mix of sciatic nerve pain, round ligament pain, and lower back pain. On top of that, sometimes when I turn over in bed at night, I feel a stab of pain in the groin. I hit 25 weeks tomorrow…only 15 more to go.

* My kid is the most polite toddler I’ve ever seen. He usually says “thank you” when I give him something (a toy or a cookie) and we’re working on “please.” He even said “thank you” to the lady in the drive-thru at Taco John’s yesterday.

* Then again, last night when reno was belching at will, B was imitating much to his amusement. He has also learned the joy of making fart noises with his hand. Oh, the thrill of having boys.

Baby’s first haircut

October 8th, 2008

Bobby got his first haircut last Friday. My cousin Jen, a hairstylist at a local salon, got the honors. His hair was getting so long in the back that it looked like he had a little baby mullet. Now he looks like a little boy again!

He really didn’t care for it much, though. I had to hold him down after she started using the big-mean-hair-buzzing-thing…

Amazing what a pair of scissors and a hair trimmer will do!

It’s a GIRL

September 22nd, 2008

Yup, reno and I found out this morning that we’re going to have a baby girl. Bobby is going to have a little sister.

I am thrilled to death!

They said everything looks really good, too. Baby estimated to weigh 12 oz, and the heart rate was 146. She was extremely active on the sonogram this morning, moving around her little arms and legs and you could even see her mouth moving. If she ends up being as talkative as Bobby, we’re going to be in trouble! lol

Now that we’ll have one of each, we have NO excuse to have any more kids. LOL

Face on the left, belly on the right, and hands at top and bottom.

It’s pretty definitive that this is a girl, actually. Not only is there no “boy” parts but you could see the “girl” parts pretty well. :P
